Golden Rules

TIME FLIES INTERVIEW with Frederic Rozier

Premium watch brand Bell&Ross & Emma Gelaude
team up for a special project listed as the ‘Time Flies’ interviews.
A serie of meetings with inspiring business people
telling more on their personal style, fashion favorites and what drives them.

38 years old design expert Frederic Rozier is living in a seventies bungalow near Ghent with his fiancée Emma and daughter Jackie Rio.
He owns the largest vintage design gallery in Belgium and is the founder of a real estate company specialized in architect houses from 20th century, ArchitectenWoning.be
On a regular basis he re-edits furniture from Belgian modernists with his LostNFound label.

My style in 3 words? Minimalistic, street and designer labels.

My favorite piece of clothing
is my Balmain leather biker jacket.

It’s tough and refined at the same time.
Extraordinary quality but still easy going.
It’s a piece I wear often on various occasions from a business meeting to dinner with friends.

My style rules? Know what clothing fit suits you best, it's absolutely crucial. A poor fit ruins your whole look.
And invest in quality pieces, it's the best way of getting value for money.

I truly believe that you can tell a man by his watch.
It's the most important accessory for a guy.
I'll always wear one.

What's the best advice you can give to fellow entrepreneurs?

If you follow your passion, willing to work hard and the odds are in your favor, there is no way you will fail.

But try, learn & grow.

I've always knew I wanted to do something with my passion for design, so when I was in my mid twenties I started organizing design auctions and launched a design&breakfast concept that is still blooming these days.
My first steps as an entrepreneur discovering the many possibilities and also learning the effects,
sometimes the hard way, of my actions.
My enthusiasm was rewarded when I was able to open my own vintage design gallery in Ghent and when I was listed as an official design expert by the Belgian Guild of ARGUS.
Slowly step by step things got more serious.

So my advice would be to take risks, but know what you're doing.
Start small and gradually expand with time. Don't go for the fast profit.
It won't work and it sure won't last.

What's your highlight of 2015?

The birth of my girl Jackie Rio.

.And businesswise?

My feature in the New York times.

What do you expect from 2016?

That it’ll be as exciting as 2015 with an extra focus on expanding the concept of ArchitectenWoning abroad.

Frederic is wearing a COS jeans, Martin Margiela knit, Louis Vuitton sneakers and watch by Bell&Ross.
I'm sporting a Filippa K shirt & pants, See by Chloé loafers and Bell&Ross watch.
